Join us for a very Effable Valentine's Day!

Writer Jessie Rosen and the best of Effable's actors-in-residence are coming together on Valentine's Day eve for party-meet-performance intended to trump any plans you had with the entire Meg Ryan catalog...

Do. Not. Miss. This.

Time to take this blog on the road with a little performance-meets-party of my writings-turned-theater.

THE HOOK-UP CONVERSATIONS
  • Date: Sunday,February 14th - 7:00-9:00pm (doors at 6:30)
  • Admission: free!, plus half-priced drinks 'til 8
Think The Vagina Monologues but of the dating-war-stories variety...

THE HOOK-UP CONVERSATIONS is a collection of 12, five-minute monologues about the sometimes-hysterical, sometimes heart-breaking issues surrounding dating, hooking up, and breaking up as a 20 to 30-something in Manhattan. Pieces will be performed as a staged-reading by a mix of male and female, gay and straight New York talent. Convo titles include:
  • Erica’s make-out diet - one girl's solution to her late-night eating Goliath
  • Who's the crazy one here? - apparently being up-front with a girl is the wrong approach
  • Did you hear about Grace? - confess your decade-long love for your male best friend and people will talk
  • Grace - that confession...
  • Karma's a bitch - a bitch named Hoboken
  • And much more - 6, specifically
This year why not spend Valentine's Day laughing, crying, and drinking to other people's dating mistakes.

And by other people's, I mean mine.

Don't live in New York? We'll miss you, but feel free to pass this invite along to anyone you've ever met that does. And then, move here.

Special thanks to Effable Arts for their help and support in this production.
